We provide Artificial Insemination (AI) packages for both frozen and chilled semen for stud work. It is vitally important that good communication occurs between ourselves and the stud to ensure that the semen is available at the correct timing for the optimum insemination.

For both chilled and frozen AI we recommend the use of hormones such as Regumate and Ovuplant to give us the best chance of success. We require mares for frozen to come into the clinic for insemination although chilled AI can be done on the yard provided stocks are available.

Follow up scans also need the availability of stocks for safety reasons.

Foaling

We recommend the evaluation of the foal immunoglobulin status shortly after birth (18-36 hours) to ensure adequate transfer of maternal immunity to the foal. Failure to do this can put the foal at serious risk of infection, septicaemia and in severe cases death.
