Due to significant investment and resultant expansion we are looking to recruit an experienced equine vet. This development takes the Practice to 7 vets and allows scope for someone who wishes to focus on a specific element of the discipline. The senior practitioner is a certificate holder in orthopaedics and as such we currently have a significant portfolio of clients requiring lameness investigation and treatment.
We are family business with a passion for horses in both work and private life. We support equine disciplines locally as well as being a sponsor at Horse of The Year Show.
The salary will depend on experience but will be strong for an experienced vet who can take a senior role in the Practice. The role is a 4 day working week to help with that all important work life balance and a 1 in 5/6 rota for on call. The following weekend after being on call you are off Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon returning to work on the Tuesday for 4 days before the following weekend. We believe this allows for a healthy work life balance. Also included is a CPD allowance, BEVA membership, VDS cover as well as private healthcare. Each vet is provided with a 4X4 commercial vehicle which allows maximum access to all yards at any time of the year.
We are a supportive team with brand-new operating & office facility which opened in July 2019. Our work is initially ambulatory with cases being brought into our surgery for further investigations and surgery.

State of the art operating theatre and recovery room.
We have also invested in Rossdale’s designed ‘Eclipse’ the equine specific practice management software which the vets can access at all time via their own supplied iPads. This development supports the vets in accessing all information including diagnostic images, full history, blood results etc while out in the field.
