Simon Constable BVSc CertAVP(Equine Orthopaedic Surgery) MRCVS has been riding since a teenager and has competed locally at riding-club level. In any precious spare time, Simon even finds time to spend with his horses and ponies. His main horse is a chestnut purebred Arab gelding called Miles (MG Vaquero) ridden by his wife, Emily.
Simon gained his Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Equine Orthopaedic Surgery Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Practice (Cert AVP ESO) in January 2012 and in 2023 added the Advanced Practitioner in Equine Soft Tissue Surgery.
Simon has close links with the Myerscough School of Farriery at Preston where he frequently lectures on orthopaedics (including navicular, laminitis and other orthopaedic conditions). At these events he receives valuable input from the lecturers there, Mark Caldwell FWCF, Paul Conroy FdSc AWCF and Jon Mather FdSc AWCF. It is this close contact with these and other farriers in the area that helps to improve the treatment and outcomes for horses.
Many of you will be aware that Simon is quite interested in running and has completed the London Marathon on 3 occasions. As well as this, Simon is a keen football, rugby and cricket fan.
For relaxation, Simon enjoys spending time with his daughters, horses and dogs.
